Jefferson Finis Davis served as president of the Confederacy during the entire civil War. After serving as the Secretary of War under President Franklin Pierce, Davis was elected president under a six-year term on Feb. 9, 1861. He was inaugurated on Feb. 18 on the steps of the Alabama State Capitol.

Once Davis took office, he lost favor with his own politicians, became overly argumentative and ignored the depressed economy

BH, I know it's not a funny matter, but the article had me laughing a little bit. I was laughing because of the spies under Davis's nose helped the Confederacy be defeated in the Civil War. Another thing that had me lauging is that the Sons of Confederate Veterans complained about "being moved to the back of the bus." Funny, no one told them they HAD to sit back there. Who's doing all the whining?
